Tips and Examples

It is easy to search the KfW website. Simply type in a few words or expressions. Be sure to choose unambiguous items that are most likely contained only in the documents you are searching. The more words you enter, the more precise the results will be. Here are a few examples:

Enter items or expressions for your search:

low-interest loans for solar energy

The search engine Lucene will search for documents that contain all of these words or expressions and organise them in such a way that those items that are most relevant for your search are listed first.

As standard the programme searches for documents that contain all terms (AND search) as with Google.

Fine-tune the search for more accurate search results:

banks loan application* m??t -balance

The search engine Lucene searches for documents,
containing the term 'banks',
containing at least one term that begins with the phrase 'application',
containing at least one term such as 'must' or 'mist' etc.,
and not containing the term 'balance'.

Finding pages that contain one or the other term

Please use advanced search and in front of the search term select "should contain" from the list.

Be sure to indicate composite terms by using quotation marks:

"Solar thermal research" solar energy

An expression should be entered in quotation marks, and the results will include only those pages containing that specific string of words. In this example, only documents will be found that contain the expression "Solar thermal research" and the term solar energy.
